E Is For Egrets

Egrets

Snowy Egrets rest
in an old buckeye tree
stately static
silhouettes
suspended
in stillness
frozen
as if painted
across a real-life canvas
peace
full
tranquility
swelling
complacency
explodes
suddenly
the scene splits
limbs crack
the air stirs
blue blurs
as wide white wings
take sudden flight.
Petra O. Hefner

The hour has come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. Romans 13:11

E is for Even
Even if I knew that tomorrow the world would go to pieces, I would still plant my apple tree. -- Martin Luther

E is for lil E's dream bear and elephant

The teddy is a changed version of this original pattern. Lil E likes his much better. ;-)

Thank you for your encouragements! :-)

  2. Petra,
I love the poem. I could visualize the entire scene as if I was really looking at it. Lovely.

  3. You posts are very creative. Snowy egrets are lovely birds. I can imagine them taking to flight from your poem. You're also inspiring me to get serious about crochet, Petra. :)

  4. We get lots of Egrets out here and I can never help myself when I walk past some and they fly off. I always comment "I have no Egrets". Childish but it amuses me.
