Still Thinking

Reading a proverb takes only a few seconds; applying a proverb can take a lifetime. ~ Author Unknown

As I was watching some old reel-to-reel family movies my lil brother had uploaded to youtube, these short  clips fell into my peripheral. What a blessing to hear some of my jumbled thoughts expressed somewhat coherently. Don't know much about Francis Chan, but those titles caught my eye: "How To Have Real Community" and "How Not To Make Disciples" I had to have a look.

So, yea...

Great clip. I memorized it. ;-)

What?

You want me to share those old home movie clips? Never! I'm soso very glad we didn't have iPhones,  facebook, youtube, or blogging back then. My dad would have recorded everything (well he did, 3 minutes at a time, which took all day and months to cut, paste, and edit) and mom wouldn't have missed a beat in sharing it all.

-.-  I. Would. Have. Died. Of embarrassment, of course.  -.-

  2. Hi Petra :) I'm still left wanting....to see the home movies :D

I love the 1800's; books, sermons, etc, right now I'm reading a book by Spurgeon. It again brings forward, very powerfully, how different today is from that time.

In my own life the admonition is "watch and pray", and just those two simple things are so difficult (warfare). What I am seeing is that this country is headed for something terrible that is about to happen, and I pray that we will be ready. Having homosexual weddings performed at the national cathedral is a huge warning sign for me just how terrible the times are today. I don't think "I" or even "we" can change it...but I know Jesus can, and when He does! I know He will be merciful and just <3 but we cannot sidestep His righteousness.

Happy New Year sweet sister. :)

  4. Hi Petra, I have to say it sounds like your head is in the same place mine is. These little Chan videos were....and not to sound dramatic sort of a life changer for me. I think I need to watch these over and over and over again. Thanks so much for posting them!
